    Hi there!!

I have a question and maybe you can help me.
    I bought a nice HP dv9500t Pavillion laptop. (Core2duo T7250, 2 Gig ram, 240 7200RPM hd, etc etc)
I am a musician and the main usage will be recording and playing live.
For several reasons beyond this post I installed windows XP. I created an install disk using Nlite and included the SATA drivers. Worked perfect. However, I have the following issues:

    1) In task manager (performance tab) it only shows ONE PROCESSOR. If I go to device manager I don't see the both processors. It doesn't even show the "Processor". What Did i do wrong? I installed xp millions on times!

It is important to note that I installed Windows under "Standard PC" (I clicked F5 when said 'Press F6 if you have external SATA or RAID drivers). The strange thing is that it only showed "Other" and "Standard PC with..." option under PC Type.
I did this because I wanna AVOID any IRQ sharing due to ACPI. Thus I can have better performance and lower audio latency, since a single IRQ is attached to , lets say, the audio card (it is an audio people thing:laugh: . Forget it!!!).

    2) Should I reinstall under ACPI??
It is a laptop and as several manufacturers do, the BIOS is MINIMUM. I CAN'T assign manually Slots to IRQ.
Any other way to manually assign IRQ to devices in order to avoid sharing??
    Advices? Ideas? tips?

Thank you very very very much!!!!

It might be there, but you havent set it to show.

In Task Manager Click 'Performance' TAB, then goto 'View' on the menus > 'CPU History' > 'One Graph Per CPU'

    hi,

Windows apparently by default doesn't properly utilise dual core / multicore (referring to the operating system itself) so it might not display them properly in the task manager, try the following link for more info: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=60416

as for the rest of your problems, they're out of my league x.x
