I am having an issue with YPOPS and Outlook 2007 with my yahoo email account. After setting up outlook I noticed that all my emails in my inbox on yahoo.com was deleted. When I receive an email I am able to see and read it on yahoo.com (web client) Afterward i check that particular email on outlook for some odd reason it disappears from my yahoo's inbox. I have no idea why all my emails are getting deleted on yahoo.com. Is there a setting I have to do on Outlook or YPOPS? I also was able to setup my gmail account with Outlook and apparently the emails in my gmail inbox are still there......

Do you have the latest version installed? Have you asked for assistance on the ypops discussion forums?

Yes I have the latest version of YPOPS 0.9.5.9. I did a search on Ypops discussion forum and could not find anyone else having this issue. This is not normal correct? I am going to try Thunderbird 2

hmm I think Ypops should have an option that say something like this

Leave messages on the Server ...

Try finding it and enable it .... this happens because as soon as the ypops downloads a copy of your email locally it will delete the mail on the server

This is a POP3 mail account, so that is why messages are dissappearing for ya.

POP3 works like this. It is just a forwarding service. It really is only meant to be used by one client. For example, when you make a few copies of messages on your computer's inbox, messages aren't copied on your online yahoo inbox.

One solution is to foward your yahoo emails to a service that provides IMAP controls, like Gmail. IMAP is probably what you are looking for. Changes to the mailbox in Outlook will be reflected online and vice versa.

You can still send outgoing emails through your Yahoo address. Incoming emails will also come in through your yahoo box. They are just fowarded to a Gmail account where you can use IMAP controls to manage the mailbox.

Not on GMail it doesn't, unless I'm mistaken. My mail remains in both, the web-clint, and Outlook 2007 while using POP3.

Yup, Gmail gives you the option to keep messages on server or to delete them.

That setting is not in YPOPS's options, it's in Outlook itself. Open the account properties for the Yahoo! account in Outlook, then click on [ More Settings ...]. YPOPS just acts as a gateway, other options are still handled by Outlook.
