I love the battery widget that comes with the regular installation.. Its the 3D cylinder looking shape.. It even gives estimates of how long it will take to charge the battery, and how much battery life is left.. The about says it was made by Arlo Rose himself (Version 2.0)

I love widgets..
I made a widget for my game programming class...
Its a Matching game that teaches Chinese Hanzi characters.
I should make it public, it really is a slick game.
Edit: I also use the Weather widget (Comes with default install)
And a MegaTokyo Widget which gets the latest comic strips from megatokyo.com
Its very convenient.. Especially when I want to check the latest comic in the 30 seconds or so I have before a class starts.. -
Widgets that I have running are, atomic clock, mini weather, werewolf monitor, wifi signal and wel quick launch. I've probably had 20-30 different ones on and off my desktop but these are the ones that have stuck.

I think they're great but I always have apps open so I never see my desktop. If I had a second monitor I'd probably use a bunch of them but I'm not going to minimize my open windows just to check the temperature outside.

I used almost all of the list posted above by me. Some were really nice, but I saw all of them were eating almost about 50Mb of memory that is big amount, so I uninstallled them. To me they are resource hog. Not much benefit, just a pay!

I really like the widgets. I have a V2000 so the wide screen is handy as I hardly ever have any of my windows maximized. Currently, I'm using the weather and day planner widget that's connected to my Outlook.
Very slick look to them... Does take some mem, but it doesn't seem to make too much of a difference to performance. -
i use the calender and weather widgets. they are awesome!

you guys should check out samurize if you like widgets. you can run any config for way low resources. i monitor numerous usage stuff but also poll my pop server every 3 mins as well as display trillian buddy lists. takes <3-5 megs for all that. super configurable and robust.

Just reinstalled 9 of them, after scrolling about 219 from gallery( system utilities), I choosed 9. I am sending the pics. It is not only fun but some give imp inforation like, I can see my CPU use jumping up and down with applications, so is the battery, and memory use. There is clock, with ring every 15 min. The calender is nice two. The paper i can use to write some few words while surfing, i made it as appearing top most all the time. Ok, now how much memory they take.... oh, all in all nearly 40 MG. it,s too much, but i like these and still i have more memory,so I can toler te until so far.

The weather widget is great; the smoked glass looks perfect with my windowblinds Vista theme.

How do you work the samurize Drumfu?
-
it's def robust and could be intimidating, but if you take the time to learn the software, it's quite amazing. i'd say it's the best app out there for monitoring your system due to it's extreme flexibility, community support, and resource allocation. -
I use the calendar, weather, and notebook status widgets. Fairly useful. A lot of useless widgets out there as well.

I love these widget thingys, thanks for bringing this to my attention people as I would probably have not found out for a long time.
Even though they use up quite a bit of resources after you have a few of them running it's still nice because most of us have powerful systems with LOTS of ram, most with at least 1 gig, might as well use up the ram right?
Awesome~!
I have the Calender, picture framer thingy, weather, battery meter, and the day planner widgets all running and using up about 60mb of ram, no big deal.
Cheers,
Mike
Yahoo widgets, what is your opinion?
