I just wanted to know what players you guys are using to listen to all your songs. I've been trying to find out that suits my tastes but all of them have things that are missing or have some flaws. What do you guys use?

i use itunes mainly. i buy my tracks with it => i play my tracks with it. it's a very "no need to care about stuff manually" thing, thus i got to like it.

I use WMP~ low resource, very responsive and has a simple interface. I also use itunes for syncing to my ipod and app download, although it eats up CPU and memory.

overall i prefer WMP for music management and overall enjoyment. iTunes needs to lighten up a bit before i even consider using it as my default music player!

At the moment I'm on Windows Media Player - so I voted for that.

I used to love SonicStage and use that a lot - but my new MP3 player doesn't support Atrac - so either I'll swap players (on my lappy) or convert all my tracks in SonicStage - as I buy CDs no problem except time.
Most of my music is saved in Atrac...

I did use the Creative app - its decent - but I didn't instal it since I recoered my Vaio as really there isn't any need for it with Windows Media Player.

Windows Media Player is my favorite for music. It's so easy to use and it arranges all of my music, plus you get to use loads of third party visualizations that look sweet. It can't play like 50% of the movie files you download, but if you download the K-Lite super overkill codec pack then your computer will be able to play anything (in what appears to be Windows Media Player classic). But for music, WMP owns.

It's been Windows Media Player for years, but recently I've started using the Zune player instead. Mainly because of the Zune Pass - legal, higher-than-YouTube-quality music is nice, especially at a price I can afford. Amazon and iTunes are just too expensive. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't sort albums by track when Artist is your primary sort column. Also takes up a lot of CPU if you use advanced visualizations, but the basic ones are fine for me - what I really care about is the music, after all!

But despite having a Zune Pass, I don't actually have a Zune. Nor any other mp3 player for that matter.

Wow, no one has mentioned Quintessential Media Player yet... I have used Quintessential Media Player for a good 2 and half years already, I have no regrets or complaints, it has been a quite good Media Player for me, and it is 100% free.

    Quinnware.

Could you add Quintessential Media Player to the list too, please?, it is quite popular and versatile, and has room for a lot of customization, the community makes lots of add-on's for it.

Well... Not quite, it depends on which version of WMP. Take WMP9 for example. LOL

WMP 10, 11, 12 (in windows 7), zune software, media center all look very similar thus have almost the same capabilities. So these should rank about the same and should be placed in the same group. Depending where you're using the media player, one might excel in certain areas. E.g. media center is best on HDTV and Zune software is awesome on 20-22" LCD monitor.

Foobar, MediaMonkey, Winamp should be put in a group as well. They're all based on plugin system and geared towards media enthusiasts. You can write your own code and customize anything you want in those media players.

Here's a question for all of you -- RealPlayer has a feature that I've never seen anywhere else - it has a 'Download this Video' button, that will download any video or music, even if the site doesn't have a link or capacity to allow downloads. Does anyone know of any other music player that has this feature?

For music, there's few players as full-featured yet light on resources as Foobar2000. It also has a very nice plugin to sync with iPods.

For videos, I use WMP with a codec pack.

    So...
This feature is unimportant. Someone can easily download any video or music even if the site doesn't have a link..etc without any media player or software. All they need is a browser. E.g. watch a youtube video and it'll automatgicallly downloaded to your temporary file folder. No software necessary for downloading.

foobar2000 for playing audio. MediaMonkey for keeping everything tagged properly.

Media Player Classic + CCCP + QuickTime alternative for video.
