Your Windows 7 Lite Configs + Guides To Help You Build Your Own

Figured I would make this post for those interested in building there own Lite versions of Windows 7. Mine is below along with some useful links so you can get started. Hope this helps!

This is my LastSession.inf for RT7Lite. It is a stripped W7 64 bit Ultimate build and I have been testing it for a while now. Just make sure you have your drivers downloaded beforehand because I removed all Network drivers except for the generic AIO. Other than that, it has been working flawlessly. Install is cut by a few GB and initial memory usage is around 350MB. There are also plenty of things that can still be cut as I was pretty conservative with this build.

NOTE: The features below are set to be removed, ie, TRUE means they are being removed.

BV recently updated all of his WIN7 configs including re-creating his config builder that creates custom .reg entries for services.

There is NO error or dumb-a$$ checking so users need to be damned sure they know what they are doing BEFORE trying any of this.

 

Well said. I just added virtualization software in the main post too so that you can check your builds before installation. I would highly recommend it.

Very true. The only weird thing about the program is that it frequently gives me errors during the image loading phase regarding the temporary directory. I usually find that a restart and change of the directory works, but it still is less than ideal. Either way, I have produced some great builds from it for all types of PCs.
