Youtube File Hack is a small program and intelligent enough that aims to ease up everything in downloading and saving youtube videos to your hard disk for offline viewing.

How to Download the Video File in Youtube? A Right-Click Menu entry will be added to your IE Context Menu.

Just Right-Click the link and Download. That's it! When the Window of File-Download Dialog Opens, press CTRL+V to paste the filename.

    What's NEW?

Here are some important changes I made:

    * More Intelligent: Automatic Detection of High Definition HD-720P, Higher Quality and Standard Flash videos
    [IMG]
    * DON'T ASK feature: Removal of Message boxes for annoyance, Automatically select and download all videos to MP4 or FLV
    [IMG]
*automatic detection of URL and Title ( trapping and clipping)
    * Anti-Bug Feature due for user intervention like moving and opening the program in a new folder.
*Getting the link is faster than the previous version

The new version is focused on usability and speed

    Hiker, This one?
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=327405

They are the same in output but YFH only works in IE whereas
the Bookmarks is a Youtube Cross-Browser and Platform Downloader...
much faster and better :) - except for Internet Explorer that you need to input it twice.

But for usability... the Automatic detection of HD and HQ
CTRL+V for the Filename... YFH Rules!!! :)

    Thank you NIC.

Seems to be a good program. But I find it easier to download stuff using the download script/code or whatever. And I heard that KeepVid is adding an option to download HD 720p as well.

Even if this tool took me several days of coding and trapping all the possibilities:

ME TOO... I love the Bookmark Trick especially in Google Chrome and Firefox.
MUCH FASTER!!! There is no waiting time in getting the link.

Anyway, this is great for IE Users only :) >> approx 5-15sec slower (depends on internet connection) against my Bookmark Trick but this tool has a good usability features.

or just install either of the two.

I got colds. I need to sleep... anyway, Thanks guys!!! :D

I guess but I got it off this thread. Still works great. Since I have XP and use FF, I'll keep using it.

Too bad it didn't work with other web videos

Yeah, that would be great. From time to time I use DownloaderHelper with it's water mark and FlashGot which downloaded about a 100 files to my desktop, some off the screen!

    Merry Christmas to you.

    Refer to HERE.

Therefore, it should not be discussed on this forum. ;)

Ahl, what you cited is boilerplate legalese employed by Google/Youtube to shield the company from liable and reparation suits.

The truth of the matter is, one could access unprotected streamed content by means of temp/cache files.

Tag I may try this out in some form later. I have been making Fallout 3 720P videos they look great. Pretty much as good as the original 1080P source material.

There is a lot of 720P JUNK on youtube, people taking lower resolution sources and just upscaling it, or maybe doing really bad file conversions. If you do it right though it comes out great.

Unfortunately for me FRAPS has a unique codec that my H264 converter does not support so I am using XVID to encode my files.

    In my understanding:

    1. Manipulating the Youtube web pages is i think against Youtube terms...
like scripts that changes the web page itself (I don't know why)
but if this will be permitted by Youtube, There is no need for a program
    to download in several formats...
    Is it correct?

    2. Downloading videos needs a request from the uploader.

    TRUE...

But in my opinion, HD is not a Bad thing... It's a Great Step!!!

If they can only make something NEW...a small video files but great resolutions
    that can Change the World.

For now, I like DIVX formats... :)
    Also, XVID.
