The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Youtube keeps stuttering...

    Just upgraded yesterday, and youtube videos have a habit of stuttering, which I've only noticed today.

    I don't think it's a connection problem - the grey buffer line is usually full/way ahead of the play point.

    RESMON shows ~15% usage and ~50% freq for CPU, and ~30% RAM usage...

    It seems to have sorted itsself out a little, possibly since upgrading display dirvers, rebooting the router and a few other things I did since the last vid I watched...
    If it rears its ugly head again I might boldly go where lots of people have gone before and dl that.

    Beta doesn't mean evil. It just hasn't been through 100% of their testing yet. It's beta to a fully established product too, not like something entirely new.

    I know, I've used beta software before, including Win 7 beta for a while.
    I wanna keep this install clean though, I'm trying to with it as little as possible.
