I am trying to update my Bios for the Asus Ul30VT-X1.

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - ASUS UL30Vt

Under downloads, BIOS (7), update 211

I am trying to download the file to update the bios, but Akamai won't install for one thing,

    AND

If I try to download the zip, it won't unzip.

It changes from UL30VTas211.zip to UL30VTas.211 when I download.

It won't let me change it, or rename it. So I can't execute it.

I tried WinRAR, WinZip, 7-zip, and they all couldn't read it.

I AM FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW. Thanks for any help.

Try a different browser or download it again, restart your computer and then rename it. Then try unzipping it.

    Unpacked its UL30VTas.211 called a 211 file
You will need to download Windows BIOS Flash Utility to run this

Thanks! I'm downloading the flash file right now, hope it works!

ALso, will the 211 file be the fully updated version, or will I have to download previous versions of the update as well?

EDIT: Now it says cannot find Bios file version.

It should be the most up to date and will have all previous updates
As for the error do you have to point the application to the bios file?

This is what I am doing.

    (On Firefox)

    1) Global
    Open with Winflash.exe
    2) Are you sure you want to make changes? Yes.
    3) WARNING: Update BIOS only when necessary. Ok.
    4) Bios file version not valid. Press Exit. Exit.

    Winflash must be installed first
It will then be in your program files
    Run Winflash from there
