    7-zip is the best archiving freeware you can find. If you just use .zip files, Windows can do the job, as stewie mentionned. Personally, I use WinRAR although it's not free.

    I prefer 7-zip to WinRar, the interface is less intrusive.

    Do you get anything else when you buy it because it works fine without paying, you just get a message that pops up reminding you the trial is over but you can just x it out and continue using the program
