This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    my toolbar on the desktop which has the start button, time etc has dissappeared....the os is xp....how do i get it back??

    Are you sure it isn't minimized? Have you tried restarting the computer?

    First try CRTL+ESC to make sure its not hidden.

    Then update and run your Anti-virus program(BTW what Anti-virus program do you have).It could be a virus/trojan causing this

    Try Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! if the scan doesn't catch anything

    If that doesnt work try Kelly's Korner page, scroll down to line 195 and click on "Restore Desktop Icons and Taskbar" in the right-hand column to download a small reg file.

    Run the file according to the directions at the top of that page.

    As a last resort, either make an new account or format then reinstall xp

    well...thanks for the advice...but i guess it a prob with the themes i was playing around with...
