in intel raid utility program upon system boot, i hit Ctrl-I and went into the utility and created a RAID 1 volume on non-raid disks. one of the disks had an OS instal and my data. the other disk had nothing.

i quickly realized what i done and simply chose to restore the disks to non-raid but my main disk does not contain a drive lettter any longer and i cannot boot from it.

is there a way to undo the damage? i was under the assumption that i can always crate raid 1 array volumes and delete them at will but obviously i must have been mistaken.

placed the hard drive in an external enclosure and hooked it up via usb to another computer. i am retrieving the files by using a data recovery program.

Why you don't use a recovery partition program like so you can recover the partitions whit all the stuff you had inside? :D

yeah that is what i am doing, partition recovery. its just that the drive lost it's drive letter and would not show up in windows explorer. thankfully when i placed it on the external usb enclosure the partitoin recover software located the drive :D
