as expected i cannot install adobe flash player 10 on internet explorer 64-bit of windows xp pro 64-bit.. i read somewhere that you can run an internet explorer 32-bit browser on a 64-bit OS, how is this possible? AFAIK, my windows xp pro 64-bit has only the 64-bit version of IE. Thanks for any help.

Vista comes with both 64 and 32 bit versions of IE7.

Are you sure there isn't a 32 bit version of IE in your C:\Program Files (x86) folder? If not, can you download it?

If you type Internet Explorer into your Start search, that shortcut will run the 32-bit version. You'll probably also see a shortcut to Internet Explorer (64-bit), which launches exactly what you'd expect it to.

in the program files (x86) folder i can see an internet explorer program but when i run it, it seems to me that it is still the 64-bit version since when i try to look the "about" section from both IE's they have the same details and in fact the adobe flash player still won't install when i use the IE from the program files (x86) folder. any suggestions?

I'd suggest downloading Firefox and just using that instead. It's a much safer browser anyway.

that's why they said that you can install an adobe flash player on an IE 32-bit which runs on Windows XP Pro 64-bit. Problem is, where can I find that IE 32-bit? Does it come pre-installed or should I still download it? Thanks.

There is a 32bit browser included in WinXP 64 bit, search through the menu, it should be right next to the 64bit version.
Though, I really stress downloading Firefox.
