    Hello,
Are there any good alternatives? The adobe one seem to be too "bulky".
    Thanks.

I have been using foxitreader for long time, and also tried several other alternatives (e.g. Sumatra). However, I found recently STDUviewer and it seems to be the best alternative in terms of speed, resources, and quality:
http://www.stdutility.com/stduviewer.html . "STDU Viewer supports TXT, TIFF, PDF and DjVu documents format."

STDUviewer does the same on me (I use Opera) and it seem to open faster than foxitreader, though I haven't done detailed comparisons. :p

for reader..Adobe Reader CS3/CS4 is more than enough.
anyways, there are other alternatives as mentioned above.

also, if you need to write PDFs,
    try CutePDFWriter.

FoxitReader is my choice, but with Reader9 out there, Adobe is getting much better and I would not call it "bulky" as with previous versions.

    cheers ...

I used Foxit, tried Adobe 9 which I liked, but got a deal on Adobe 8 Pro. Seems fine to me.

Foxit portable, no need to install. Download the zip file on the official site.

PDF-XChange Viewer portable (download link at the bottom of that page).
12 MB of disk space, no shell extensions/background processes/updater service or other common annoyances, can save filled out PDF forms, somehow manages to display PDF files that Adobe Reader can't or won't (shows just empty pages).

The default toolbar setup *is* pretty cluttered, but spending two minutes disabling them and clicking together a custom one with the features you need is worth it.
