Ok well I was using gamebooster and it reccomened me to downloaded Advance system care. So I did. and I did some scans. but I want to know. Is is good or is it one of those things that fakes something is wrong like mycleanpc.com?

I mainly use my laptop for gaming. I mainly play tf2 and run it fine. But I want to play cod4 but it's kind of choppy. Would Adv system care help?

    My specs are
    2.53 ghz core 2 duo
    4gb ram
    nvidia 9600m GT
    500 gb HDD

The first thing I would do is check with the back of the game and see if your system meets the requirements.
And if it does, then I would make sure all my drivers were updated.
Also running Ccleaner could help and defragging your HD too.

I would not trust what Gamebooster says. When a program recommends you download another program, on what basis does it recommend? It seems to me like it's just pure advertising.

Also, I do not recommend using Gamebooster. From my personal testing of the program and the fact that it claims to "defragment RAM" was enough to make me remove it. Advance System Care is made by IObit, which also makes Gamebooster. Also, if you really want to get the best performance out of your system by tweaking it and disabling things, you are better off doing it manually and understanding the changes YOU make.

The program Gamebooster has a feature that checks for the latest driver. Just because a new driver is released doesn't mean that it is recommended to update to that driver. To get maximum performance for games, you should read the release notes and look at what changes were made for that driver. A driver update isn't always a good thing.

If COD4 is choppy on your system, look at your game's settings. What resolution? What are your AA, Anisotropic, Vsync, and other settings? You cannot just state that a game is choppy on your system without providing these other details. It could be that your graphics card cannot handle running the game at your current settings.
