I have a Hp pavilionzv5000 and had recently taken the whole thing apart to fix the power jack. When i restarted it everything works fine(no errors) but it is running real slow. I was wondering if it somehow screwed the cpu. Ive been wanting to upgrade anyway, but also keep the price low. I am running a amd athlonxp 2800. Any help would be appreciated.Thanx

Perhaps a RAM stick was not properly put back in?

Or a time for a reformat?

the ram is not removable from what i am told. I want to add more to it. It is 256 mb. do I have to get another 256 or can i add a 512? I also want to upgrade the processor I have an amd athlon xp 2800. What would be a better one for a cheap price? I think you're right. I'm going to upgrade then reload windows
