I installed vista home premium tonight and upon rebooting a windows popped up and told me my copy of vista might not be genuine and aero would not be able to load properly. I can't even find the theme under my apperrance modifications. Can anyone shed some light on how to activate aero? Btw, I DO pass all the basic requirements. :p

There's your problem. First get a legit copy of Vista.

You might have to activate or validate you copy of Vista to get it working in this case as disabling certain "features" of the OS is something Microsoft put in to try to disuade piracy. It is strange though, as you can do an install of Vista without activating it and it will give you the 30 days until you have to do activation during which all features will run.

I'm guessing you installed Vista with a key from the Express Upgrade program? You shouldn't have any problems with activation then, however there *have* been some problems with invalidations of legit copies of Vista before. Hopefully that's not what's causing this. :)

That happened to me after I did a clean install on my comp. Restart and go control panel then system and maintenance then system. On the bottom should be the validation go to change product key and put in your same key and click enter or whatever, that should fix the problem thats what I did.
