This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     after a couple of minutes icons and toolbar disappear

    4 or 5 minutes after i start up vista the icons and toolbar disappear.i can still see the mouse pointer.why does it do this.how can i fix it.

    try ctrl+alt+delete
    then start task manager
    in task manager, click file, run, and type explorer.exe
    and click run
    this should restart windows explorer
