update Opera 9.5 xxxxxxxx:
. looking like 9.5 development is being pushed back to the burner, reason is
. 9.26 is in testing phase for roll out, to fix STABILITY issues in many instances
update Minefield build 2008021504:
. well, what can i say but
. GIVE ME MY THEMES and EXTENSIONS
cheers ...

man, talking about "quadruble talk" - i always thought (or made to believe) that Opera was the most secure browser and always ahead of the pack. Personally, i m losing faith with Opera, 1st blaming microsoft and "lousy" web developers for its acceptance, and now blaming Mozilla for its lack of security ------ yikes!
cheers .... -
That seems like something stupid to say. That another browser is the cause of your incompetence. If i was them i'd shut my mouth and fix the program.

So, anyone tried Flock 1.1 Beta?
-
. 1.1 beta might have some pretty works to finish
. want to give us some inputs based in ur personal experiences?
cheers ... -
Overall it's stable. I love the new mail integration. All my addons still work & like always, Flock is lighter & faster the Firefox 2 & on par with Firefox 3 if not faster. Not many interface features have changed except for better youtube integration & things like that. There are a few themes that have come out recently so the theme department may start to pick up.

i was looking into FLock a while back (last year) but after a brainstorm 2 things kept me back:
. Integration with del.icio.us for bookmarks, sometimes dragging a bookmark to your toolbar will send a bookmark to the mentioned site (a no no for my private browing experience). It might be ok for others since this is supposed to be a social browser
. "the coop" - Mozilla is building social netwoking into firefox, so kinda might be trumping Flock in the main area
cheers ... -
After what you said i'd like to try it out in vista to see if it's faster than FF3 but it's not available for vista.

I like how now Firefox 3 opens the last page you were viewing even if you only had one tab open.

Doesn't happen with me, and i wouldn't want it to. What if i were viewing something i didn't want other people to see and they started up Firefox to see that page?
-
Guess Tweakforce will never be fixed
Not only TF, but some other sites are also using too much cpu
-
-
Whenever i click the "Scan now" button in this site it crashes Firefox. Does so for a few of my buddies too. It works fine in IE7 though.

Yahoo mail works again (in Minefield)!! So happy, now no more need to open IE!
-

Just notice the back and forward buttons are now round and blue, not green and hard edged anymore.
-
Now i think they should integrate the reload/stop buttons into one. Followed by putting the home button back as an icon instead of a "bookmark".

update "to be" IE 8 Beta:
. preparing my environment for installing the new "beast" (nah, beauty does hide behind the beasty mask, more than often)
. statement of mission: "fully" complying to web standards (hearing this Opera?) WITHOUT breaking old web sites (hearing this again Opera? - sure they do, their derriere has been burning with 9.5 developments and 9.2x patches to lead to this)
. challenges to web developers: actually this is a smart move of microsoft to keep the base. IE 8 will be standard and at the same time not breaking old sites, this is to satisfy the demands and challenges of modern/standard web developers while giving the "old" web developers time to migrate to the standard. Clever move!
. wheee, a new toy to play with since Minefield has pretty much no more "wow" surprises(for me anyway)
cheers ... -
If you get your hands on it, be sure to provide many screenshots and details.
-
Agreed. I'd like to see how it turns out.
-
Now i will only test it stock, like with Minefield, Opera 9.5x and Safari Beta. No addons, rumor is that IE7Pro is already having issue with the beta version. Must be just from competitors. I probably will just take a quick test with this addon to confirm or not comfirm the rumor and then remove it.
Just hope that it is simple to UN.install afterward and not losing the current IE7 installation.

current fastest (alpha/beta) browser:
. this was on my comp
. Minefield (2008022806) = 8246.0 ms
. Opera 9.5 (9807) = 12642.2 ms
. Safari 3.0.4 = 21017.3 ms
more professional reference:
http://cybernetnews.com/2008/02/25/firefox-3-performance-gets-a-boost/
the article mentioned a GPO (Profile-Guide Optimization) build that could have make Minefield much faster than the normal nightly build
well, unless something changes in the alpha/beta arena, currently FF is leading the pack in SPEED. Can't wait to start testing IE8 Beta

update Minefield 2008022906:
. sunjavaScript Benchmark: 8238.2ms (with 6 tabs opened)
.
update Opera 9.5 snapshot 9815:
. one step forward, 20 steps back - a new cha-cha-cha
. they need new development team, a team that pays more attention to making a better product and not smart-mouthing with testers

update Minefield 3.0b5pre:
. this is NOT a can-be-tweaked build/version
. meaning NO extension, NO add-on
. nightly tester tool will not work (security blocked)
other than that: simply cool, fast, pretty
cheers ... -
work around of the nightly tester tool installation:
. install it via FF2
. just making sure that the latest version was present
cheers ... -
-
and yes, it is 3.0b5pre
