Before my desktop pc crashed i had software that let me convert mp3 back to CDA so i could play it in my CD player. However, I cannot remember what software it was. I didn't buy any software specifically for that purpose, so it must have been a feature of other software i was given free for another purpose e.g. nero, real jukebox, musicmatch jukebox etc.

Does anyone know of any of the mainstream cd ripping/copying programs that let you create an audio cd from mp3

    Thanks

Too many to list. Windows Media Player has a decent ripper and can burner CDs. If you are looking specifically for burning software, CDBurnerXP is free and works well for basic stuff like making audio CDs. Good Luck.

    Thanks Zazonz

I didn't realise that WMP did the job - it should do just fine. All i want to do is create a basic audio cd for my kid to play in my wifes car cd player (doesn't support mp3)

What confused me was that when i did a google search i only seemed to find products that cost money.

    Thanks again

zazonz, how would you compare CDBurnerXP to Poikosoft's Easy CD-DA Extractor?
That's what I have been using for quite some time now (a couple of years at least), but some of my friends want something that is as good or better but without having to pay $$$

CD-Extracter is more for ripping CDs to MP3 format, it can also burn but it's mainyl for ripping. CDBurnerXP is more like a free version of Nero or Roxio - it can do music, it can do data, pretty much anything the burner suites can do it can as well. I just started using CDBurnerXP myself, I'm starting to like it better then Nero however the user interface (eye candy) is pretty weak. It reminds of me the programs that came with Windows 95 and 98.

DeepBurner is another good free burner that supports MP3 to Audio CD. Not as many options as CDBurnerXP (you'll need to upgrade to DeepBurner Pro for disc-to-disc on the fly copying or to burn DVD movies), but theres no adware, nag-ware, or anything annoying. And they also have a portable version that you can put on your thumbdrive. I don't know why you would want or need that ability but you never know.

CDBurnerXP is a little slow, but gets the job done. I use Exact Audio Copy for ripping. It is also slow, but very good quality. I have never used Easy CD-DA Extracto.
