    any software to control and adjust fan speed for laptop?

    I have acer aspire one netbook. I can set the fan speed to off, low and high or auto. I can also turn on the fan at specific temperature. It works very well.
    I use a1ctl and aa1fancontrol

    Hmm, that actually sounds interesting. Does it work for all laptop fan models, or only certain fans?

    It works only for acer aspire one 150 because the program is designed specificallly for the acer aspire one 150's acpi processor. Though, if one has the time and skills, almost all laptop's fan speed can be controlled simply by controlling the acpi processor.

    Why do you want to be able to turn off your fans ? the more work you put on your system the faster the fans will turn, why do you want to so this manually ?

    I use speedfan, and if not recomended I would have. Although on my Asus I have basically ZERO control over the fan speed other than the Delta Values in options panel.

    I use SpeedFan for monitoring the Temps on CPU, GPU, HDD, etc... so I still find it quite useful.
