ok long story short we had a 'illigal' copy of windows(we got screwed, i know) any we installed a new copy of windows, we made sure we have a genuine copy this time.

the question is, is there any universal audio drivers, because i can't find any drivers on the microsft website(i did not look toooo hard)

i don't know what brand the sound card is and this is on a desktop... so if i need to i can open it up(i don't really want to do that)

if there is one availble a link would be great!!!

    thanks in advance.

What brand/model of laptop do you have? The manufacturer's Web site should have those files. They may be a bit outdated, but they should work.

i doubt you have a physical sound card in there... opening it wont help.

whether you do or not, you can find your sound card by clicking Start -- Run

then type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

    click on the "sound" tab

it will list the onboard sound or physical card
