does anyone else have the problem that firefox will stop responding for like 10 seconds and then come back from it? no other programs seem to do that, just firefox.

Firefox opens. I type some url and it stops responding for a few seconds and that busy circle thing goes on for 5-6 seconds before it wakes up again

I don't think it's an issue with Vista; occasionally FF stops responding in my Linux machines, but only rarely, as it did while XP was still in the machines.

AFAIK the latest version of firefox (2.0.0.4) is fully compatible with vista. I have no issues with firefox and vista either.

i noticed that when it freezes up in the task manager, it shows spike in ram usage, almost to max.

really weird..but doen't really affect my browsing experience too much..

Have those of you with Firefox issues tried disabling your add-ons?

And perhaps restarting Firefox with the default theme if you are using a different theme as well?

that's an addon issue. been using Firefox and Vista since it was in RTM, and Firefox since version 1.0. Never once had that issue.

If it is only at the startup, then most probably because of the firefox/add-on update check. If not, then maybe an incompatible plug-in or something.

I also experiences similar lags from time to time (under both XP and Vista), but not frequent. I guess due to small bugs

i dont think it is due to any addons because it was doing it before i added anything

I dont think it is because of the add ons. I downloaded Firefox the very day I got my lappie. The first time it opened, it opened the firefox page and when i pressed ctrl + t and started typing, the busy circle appeared out of the blue. Never happened before. And I had no add ons then.

If it isnt a vista - firefox problem, it must be a f3sv - firefox problem :p
