i simply can not get this to install on the desktop. no matter what i have tried the 64 bit version simply bluescreens upon reboot. i have done anything and everything i can think of. vista 64 runs fine windows 7 32 bit runs fine.. only the 64 bit 7 version does this..
-
You sure your install media is good?
One of the ones you could get on torrent sites had a virus in it.
Also, have you tested out the computer's hardware? Namely memory and hard drive.
Lastly... is it the same code every time? If yes, what's the code? -
everything hardware wise is fine. i can run stable at 4.5 all day lone on vista 32/64 and windows 7 32 bit.
no this is the direct one from ms technet
no first i got stop code 50, then 24, then another one i didnt bother at that point to wright down. it will install fine and ruyn for maybe 15 min then something after that causes the bsod and a reboot then after that it will not even go to windows any more it bsod right after the startup screen and loops with a bsod and it is no longer accessable after that. i have to boot to my vista install and wipe the partition and start over.
ran chkdsk /f no errors my mem and system pass orthos for days. memory passes as many memtest runs i throw at it. and as i said every other os os stable as can be its only 7 64 bit version.. vista 64 is fine -

have you tried older versions of win7?
-
not 64 bit
-
How much ram do you have 4 gig ?
are you use the sp1 media?
if 4 gig try remove it down 2 gig then install they issues with none sp1 media and blue screen with 4 gig ram -
sp1??? this is windows 7 im trying to run not vista.
and i have 8 gig of ram. vista 64 runs fine only windows 7 the bsod
i think its a gpu issue. the second i install the ati driver instant bsod and when i try to run the index score during the gpu tests it bsod and restarts
i have dual 4870x2 in crossfire.. -
If you had mentioned the gpu issues first....
Take one of the cards out. -
The dual 4870x2 is probably the problem. The video card drivers are not really mature yet. Running Crossfire complicates things.
-
even when i dont install the ati drivers it bsod with the stock ones.
i have now also seen win32k.sys error, and a stop 50. and a pagefault in non paged area message and it varies
whats REALLY wierd is after the bsod it reboots and will let me back into 7 now. but i have no permissions and it says i can not access anything including control panel. explorer.exe is not running i have no backround and aero has stopped.
the only way to fix it is to reboot to safe mode. create a new admin account and delete the old one then restart and i will not have my backround is back i can access everything and aero is on. but soon after for apperantly no reason it will bsod to a "page fault in non paging area" message than restart.
i have to go through the same process to get it back up again.. what the heck is going on???
whats really odd is the page fault in non paged area message normally is associated with bad ram. but ever other os including vista 64bit runs just fine.. even windows 7 32 bit runs fine... i have replaced the ram and it does the same thing -
okay removed all but one hdd, reinstalled ran fine till i tried to run wei then bsod with bad pool caller message.. arghhhh
removed ram installed a single 2gb stick. removed any oc i have set bios to default. reinstalled. bam bsod win32k.sys error restart bad pool caller error.
everything runs fine in safe mode though. except of course its not loading any drivers.. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh -

tried those with the same result. i am honestly not sure where to go now this is just ridiculous...
-
did you take one of the video cards out?
"page fault in non paging area" is typical for a blown driver, more so for driver problems than bad ram.
You say you get a bsod for 'no reason' with that error. Well, that error IS the reason for the bsod. Work from there. -

zfactor it is the slave cards my slave won't install.
here us a screen shoot. the master is fine it is just the slave.
-
both my cards show as being installed. remember this is a desktop im working with not a notebook. but i feel it should be in the windows 7 discussion area in case another person has a similar issue
-
I've had this problem, BSOD, then on reboot everything is screwed up. My card is way older than yours, x1050, but exactly the same issues. I've taken the card out and it works fine, but with the card it screws up. I've tried all manor of drivers but no success. All build, 7000, 7057, 7077, 7100 and all the same issue. After seeing this thread, I think there may be some issues with ATI cards for a while to come!!!
-
motherboard and/or video card bios up to date?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah win7 7100 has some issue. but for me it is alot better then most of the os's i have used. i am going back to 7000 until this issue is fixed.
-
-
okay so what the heck anyone else see this issue??? i can now install and run 7 64bit fine. UNTIL i run wei. when i run wei during one of the gpu tests it bsod's out on me. i reinstalled ran for hours without a single issue EXCEPT when running wei.. what the heck?? the error is a page pooling fault error and my memory has been very very WELL TESTED so i know its not the ram sticks...
edit just so you know the original bsod was caused by the on board lan's i disabled them and i as i said i can run for hours with no bsod then i try the wei and bsod -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
well wei for windows 7 for me is unstable. i can't complete a single test. even on a fresh install. so far i haven't gotten the slave to work. so that is whwre the problem happens. if you hace ccc installed disable AI and see what happens.
-
what do you mean you cant complete the tests? what does it do when you try to? thanks
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i can't complete WEI. on 7000. on 7100 i couldn't do it either. i haven't tried 7077 which i am using now.
-
right but what does it do? does it bluescreen or just tell you it cant complete the test?? mine bsod after a few of the gpu tests
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no i havent bsod i just couldn't complete. did you try to disable AI and see if the slave cards is stoping the test to complete?
-
i disabled ai and no go. my last resort is pulling the second card out to see if it will run that way. 32 bit works fine and passes wei no problem its only the 64 bit version
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i guess it is an error in x64 7 then because i already know you updated all your drivers and your hardware is fine. have you tried other test or is that your only issue.
try other gpu drivers 9.5 is out. -
tried 9.5 and this is the only issue. i can run it for hours with out any issue. if i do anything to stress the gpus though now it also bsod but they run fine and pass everything i throw at them in 32 bit windows 7?? very odd. i know its not a bad gpu
-
im wondering if its due to me dual booting with vista 32 bit. i have dual raid 0 in this system, so i have vista sp2 32 bit on the first array then im installing windows 7 64 bit on the other separate array. i have 4 wd 640 dual platter drives in this for the raid arrays then 2 more backup drives.
im wondering if its due to the dual booting somehow with 32 and 64 bit os's?? i know when i did it with vista 32 and 64 it was fine but maybe some issue with windows 7 / vista??
also to even get it to run after setup i have to disable the marvell onboard lan's with those installed it bsod right after the setup screen after installation. with those disabled i can install and run fine. minus the gpu issue -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no it not. your gpu's are fine. i havent played with 7100 since it only supported one gpu. so i don't know if it is a error on ati crossfire cards.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
-
yeah the master os is 32bit. im thinking that may still have something to do with it. but they are on totally separate drives (both separate raid 0 array's), just doesnt make any sense
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
that's why i said that is out of the question. unless your page file is on the other hdd, your fine. i can only think to try a older chipset driver and/or disable some more drivers and see what happens.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
your good
and i am sure you reinstalled a couple times. see if the gpu's are reading right. use gpu-z and see what happens. also use hwmoniter and if it is giving you a stupid negative number then you know it is something with your gpu drivers. i will think of more. -
Pull a card and re-test. If there's no issue, it's something weird with your hardware combination.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no it's the os. z said his rig works on everything else except for win7 x64 rc1.
i just currently got 7120 or some weird number like that. tonight i will try it and see if it is better. it is soppuse to fix this issue.
anyone else with 7 64 bsod issues
