i for sure know how to use it and have many times in the past. i have a customers notebook here and need to do a crisis bios recovery on it (at least im hoping that will let me restore it but its pretty much last shot type of thing). problem is where i am i dont have a usb floppy with me. as far as i know the only way to make a crisis recovery disk is via a regular floppy or a usb floppy. is there any way to do this with a usb stick instead? i so far have not been able to get it to work with a usb stick.

anyone have a idea? i hate to go buy a usb floppy drive for a one time use especially when i have 3 or 4 back at the office (im away on a job right now) and i have the original bios but it looks like ill have to use the crisis to restore the original file i have or at least im hoping that will work.

    lmk with any ideas. thanks

I know of it, but have never used it. Did a little googling and came across a thread on the My Digital Life forums that contains a method for BIOS recovery using a USB flash drive - however, it's a little too out of my depth for me to fully grasp quickly, so I cannot say for sure that it will provide you with the answer(s) you seek. The first post on the thread can be found here.

BigO made a USB thumb drive to recover the Insyde BIOS. Probably use the same procedure to prepare the thumb drive.
