    hi friends,
    i have vostro 1400 n my OS dell gave me is vista basic(preinstalleD),they didnt give dvd to me,instead gave me a serial number.
    vostro's vista doesnt have any crapware(trails wares etc...)unlike inspirons.
    now i wish to install xp in ma system,thn put back ma vista(dual boot),
    since i dont have vista dvd,i borrowed ma friend's vista home dvd... but his laptop is 6400 n dell gave this dvd to him.
    my doubt is if i install vista from this dvd,will those all crapware get installed into my system???

    yeah ,this is becoz my problem deals with both dell n OS,so maybe few guys who dont go to dell section can come across my trouble

    If you install Vista from an OEM disk (such as the one for your friend's 6400) you will not get all the crapware. Crapware only comes with "complete" recovery disks and "complete" recovery partitions.

    thanq,now i ll wipe out entire of my disk n ll install xp,vista(frm my friend's disk),thn ubuntu.
