Will my apps that run on XP 32bit and Vista 32 run on Vista 64 bit?

Depends. Some won't, most will. Check the system requirements, if it's unspecified, chances are that they will.

i haven't encountered a game or app that doesnt run on 64 bit. Maybe if it is a really old game (like 10 years old) or a corporate specialty app but like i said, no problems here.

16Bit applications can be run in a 32Bit environment to my my knowledge.
These cannot be run in a 64 Bit environment - howeverthey are rather old and it is unlikely that you will encounter them.

Normal 32 Bit applications should work fine in a 64Bit environment.

However, some speciallist applications do not run in a 64Bit environment.
An example would be SAS - which is a statistical tool.
(I don't know if there is a workaround or a 64Bit version...hadn't had the need to inquire)

Usually unless you use specialist applications everything should run fine.

Thanks to all in addressing my concern about apps running on 32 bit, and 64 bit. P.S. I used SAS for three months back in 1982, hope it has changed for the better.

if you have the need for some very old 16bit or so app, just virtualize it in virtualbox or so, then it works great.
