You usually use DVDs for backup stuff like that. They hold up to 7 times as much info as CDs. So seeing as how it's not unusual to see 2 or 3 DVDs for a single backup, I see how it would take you more than 9 CDs and not even be done yet.

    Start over with a DVD.

Well if they are 700mb CDS and you have a lot of files then yes it'll take a long while. You should have started with DVDs in the first place, don't they tell you to use DVDs before you start making your backup?

if you are using the manufacturers utility to make recovery discs, you should have used dvd's. my girlfriends laptop took 12 cd's (we didnt have any dvds at the time) and i thought i would just make dvds once i got some....WRONG...they only let you burn one set of back up discs usually. and if you use cds then you are stuck with keeping track of a dozen or so cds. and if you use them, you have to keep changing them out for the next one.

Yes it's going to be quicker because you don't have to manually keep on switching out CDs, and you probably only need 2 DVDs.

It's usually 2 to 3 DVDs or 1 Double Layer DVD.
