hi. i know this may be an odd question.

just say me and my friend have the same laptop. i do a full system recovery USING HIS recovery discs. will it still register the laptop with MY cd-key on the bottom of my laptop?

i was wondering this because i lost my recovery discs but decided to order it directly from HP instead. now unless they create a recovery disc on the spot with my CD-KEY built in, it must be reading it off my hardware in my laptop right? thank you!
