    automatically restart when i press Log off or shutdown

    hi,

    i am using windows 7 ultimate on my Dell inspiron 1420 laptop.
    since two days, my system ia automatically restarts when i press log off or shutdown buttons. this is observed perticularly in my administrator account. my user account is ok. i am using Kaspersky internet security 2010. i scanned my computer completly. no virus detected.
    can any body fix this problem.

    I have not experienced this yet with W7 but with XP this type of problem was usually a sign of a problem with a newly installed driver. So, if you have installed any new drivers (especially display) I suspect that is your problem.

    You might try to restore your computer via a system restore point prior to the time this happened while you sort it out.

    thanks for responce,

    i've installed WiFi Drivers, and i tried by uninstalling them. but no use.
    while in safe mode it is working properly. i tried system restore also, no improvement.
    then i tried "sysprep /generalise" to reset my adminstrator account, but it crashed my OS. i reinstalled OS again.
