i was wonder if there is anyway to set avast to scan your HD everytime you boot up (or once a week or something) instead of just the first time, because i would much rather it run before windows boots instead of while windows is running

If you make it scan on every boot it'll take a long time to finish especially if you have a lot of files. If it's thoroughly scanned the first time why bother scanning it again? It'll do scans of new files instead.

i wont be using windows for storing files, so it shouldnt take very long to do a scan, i will store my files on linux, the only thing i will use windows for will be gaming.
but, how does it do its scan? does it only scan the new files on your system? like if the file was there last time and it hasnt been changed it just skips it or what?
but, i would still like to know if thats possible or not. (to scan on every boot or once a week on boot or something) -
It will scan all the files unless you tell it to only scan certain files, directories. Yes there is an option to schedule when to scan the hard drive. Have you read their web site?

but to scan on startup of the computer? like when you choose windows then it would scan, is that possible?
and, no i didnt read their websitemaybe ill do that
EDIT: read their website, and i cant figure out how you would do that
