    hi,
i want to run a scan upon startup. i use avast (the free version) and when i right click, the option boot scan is grey and i can't click it.
i read that avast cannot run a boot scan if i run a 64bit OS which is the case. so my question is, what can i do ?
    thanks

Use a Live CD. Many AV companies offer these as free download.

Avast cannot run a boot scanning on 64? Hear it for the 1st time. Of course, I haven't try it yet oin my laptop...
But in any way, I think you can download a free anivirus or a trial version of any and while avast is off to check your system.
