I installed a theme on my windows xp machine. I uninstalled it but it left the boot, welcome, and shutdown screen. The issue is that the boot screen has horrible color almost like it is showing a 32 bit image in only 8 bit. I have since tryed Bootskin to change the boot image but what ever I change it to still has the same poor color quality. Can anyone tell me what I screwed up and how to correct it? Thanks for the help.

When you uninstalled the theme, I bet the boot *.dll file stayed behind. I don't really know if there is such a file, but it sounds like you have conflicts. I would run through with something like "Advanced Windows Care" to see if there are problematic files.
