My boot up time is now about 30 sec (subject to looooong password entry :p). Shaved abut 20 sec off (43 processed on start up - I was amazed too)

Hibernate resume time had about 10 sec taken off

Standby has always been pretty much instantaneous, so although bootvis made standby resume quicker, it didn't really make any practical difference, if you get me'

I believe it rearranges your boot files on your HD, similar or the same as pro defragmentation programs like perfectdisk. You would need to keep it installed, as files do get fragmented, and you could do a regular run of bootvis, say every month. Doesn't matter as its not a particularly big install (14.1mb)

used bootvis before, but now by just concentrating in keeping start.up processes clean and un.needed services disabled with once a month defrag, system would perform (start.up) just as quick

    cheers ...

For me, there is no difference, after installing bootvis, my Windows loading bar is still about 5 times. I think the best way to reduce boot time is use as little startup as possible.

Uh I gave it a try and actually feel like I lost a few seconds booting into XP :(

Typical bootup time, from "Starting XP" screen to launching FF to post on NBR, is about 20 seconds. I don't run a lot of the services though.
