    hi all,

i am a new user here. i have this very interesting problem here. each time i open bunkspeed hypershot(a real time rendering software) my machine shuts down automatically within few minutes of it.

i have a dell XPS with 4gig of ram..seven month old 15inch laptop.

Is it happening because of (overheating)HEAT..but in that case it sud have restart instead of complete shutdown. n i never get a warning windows after i switch on the comp next time..

    Please help..

thanks a ton in advance guys :)

When CPU reaches 100C, the computer just shuts down (like a circuit breaker).

Run HWMonitor and post your temps when running bunkspeed hypershot.

Not sure what OS you are using, but see if you can find the Event Viewer (under Control Panel -> Administrative Tools on XP). From there, see if the shutdowns are registering (probably under the System log). Also check the Application log to see if BH is leaving any entries before system shutdown.

Finally, use a temperature monitoring software such as SpeedFan ( http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php) or NHC ( http://www.pbus-167.com/) so that you can definitely tell whether it is overheating or not.

    Regards,

    z.
