I have no problem ripping DVDs. Do you have all of the required updates installed for Vista? Have you tried a better program, like DVD Fab Decrypter, for ripping?

Are you running this as an administrator? I had Vista but decided to downgrade to XP, and I remember that you need to RUN THE PROGRAM as an administrator. Select some other directory than C:\ because apparently it is protected in Vista. To allow that you need to do some serious modification of the security policy in Vista. Just run it as admin and you'll be fine. Most programs are like that in Vista.

Oh, by the way, I rip DVDs all the time with no problem. You should consider using DVDFab Decrypter. It is a fabulous program and works very well in Vista.

Yes Fab is a great program, as I've already stated. Go to the website and read about it.
