So I am helping a friend of mine build a computer (actually I will be doing the build and he well just pay for it), and I was searching for cheap prices on Windows 7 HP. I was browsing around looking at the different prices thinking that newegg would have the cheapest at $109 (I think thats right). I went on ebay to look to see if anybody was selling windows 7 and what there prices were. I was very surprised to see that one seller in particular (others not much more) was selling it for $20. The guy has like 76 reviews all 100% positive. He is just selling the Key, not the disc. What are your guys thoughts?

I'd rather pay the $109 and have the peace of mind than $20 for what will basically be an email.

No, the ones on Ebay are almost always TechNet keys, which are not allowed to be sold.

there was a guy selling actual retail keys imo which were prob stolen from a store he works at or something. but almost every key i have checked since then that people have sent me to check were technet or msdn keys. ms can and WILL eventually block then and you will end up not activated. also there is a seller currently selling coa keys off returned machines, he works at acer and this was leaked on another forums by him asking questions and the thread since removed. he was taking coa keys off returned systems and reselling them on ebay. he admitted to it.. he is since no longer on ebay but sold more than 300keys supposedly. the problem with a coa key is not only it illegal to sell if that machine gets resold and the person calls ms when they try to activate windows and it says the key is already in use ms will normaly reset the key allowing the real system owner to use the key with over the phone activation. then you will receive a notice saying you need to activate and it will not longer be able to do so since the key is now back in use by the actual system owner.
