yeah...
though is there a reason not to use 64bit? if your laptop has > 3+GB ram, you probably can't use it in 32bit OSes (unless you use PAE mode or something -
What do you mean a "64bit laptop"? Do you mean a 64bit processor? If os, yes you can still install a 32bit OS on it.

Thank goodness for backwards compatability.

You don't have a clue what you are tallking about. I know for a fact that not "All vendors provide YOU with 64 bit variants of theire drivers."

@ScuderiaConchiglia: yes, nice to go 64-bit if you have all latest hardware and can afford latest software. to be fair, win 7 64-bit certainly has most drivers (compared to vista 64) but you really need to check carefully all your hard and software to see if they are all compatible, otherwise add it to the cost of upgrade. i also (to my sig) have 3 year old 64-bit laptop (yeah, ancient ;-) ), and realtek 64-bit sound drivers but still no sound (but does work on vista 64), built in wifi or launch manager (for hardware buttons)

i have a 3 yearold HP laptop and HP arent going to be making any drivers for it
but it wasnt a problem anyway as win7 have all the drivers for it anyway so win 7 ran great on it. -
There is, to the best of my knowledge nothing like a "64Bit laptop".
And on the driver side - periphal devices - if you have an older periphal device that may not get 64Bit support - especially in todays age where far too many manufacturers thunk everything has to break in a few months - maybe within 32 years max.... -
Yeah I honestly am not sure what he means by a "64bit laptop". Only OSes, softwares and processors can be 64bit to my knowledge.
