    is it possible for me to a a windows media center edition cd and install it to an asus s96j?

    I do not believe so. It will only work if you have an Asus OEM copy of Windows Media Center Edition.

    Of course. You will need the MCE cd and a valid key and you will be able to upgrade/install.

    when you mean key you mean the code on each package right?

    There are OEM copies available on eBay.

    Places like Newegg and TigerDirect also have them I believe. They will only be OEM however. There is no such thing as a retail Windows MCE.
