I just noticed that my IE8 in Win7x64 (Flash 10.2) doesn't show me embedded Flash movies anymore. I can watch movies on YouTube just fine, but if I go to a page like this, all I get is a little red cross in the upper left-hand corner. Again, if I click on the link to watch the movie on the original site (which takes me to YouTube), the movie plays just fine. I have similar issues with some other sites that have Flash movies embedded on web pages. All of these work fine if I am logged into my Admin account, however.

Does anybody know what setting might be responsible for this? Thanks!

P.S.: The tests on the Adobe website indicate that both Shockwave and Flash players are installed and operate correctly.

O.k., found the issue. My MIME type for application/x-shockwave-flash (in HKCR\MIME) somehow mas missing its access permissions for users. Added those back in, and things are back to normal now. It was probably a Flash update that went awry.

P.S.: Interestingly, I found another computer of mine had the exact same problem, so this may not be an isolated incident, and others may have the same issue. If so, the solution is above. ;)
