I went to the apple site and attempted to install the newest version of iTunes. My OS would not allow me, stating that the administrator has set policies against this installation, or something along those lines. Thing is, I'm the system admin for my OS, so what can I do to let vista install new programs on my laptop?

Log off and log back in as yourself. Make sure you have adminstrative priveleges by going to user accounts in the control panel. If you are then try disabling uac under user accounts.
