I've started using Firefox and so far have a positive impression. However, I hate that everytime a website can't fully come up, I get a pop-up saying, "the operation timed out..."

Can I get rid of these annoying pop-ups? thx.

I get that too from time to time, happens when advertisements hang and such. I haven't really looked for a way to disable it, but you might try looking at the extensions library.
