    Hi Guys,
i am charging my dv2500t laptop with a HP netbook power adapter
which is a 30W where as my original power adapter is 90W.
what are the negative effects of it if they exist.
    i am damaging the motherboard?

    Thanks.

Well, the battery will charge much slower. The laptop adapter might run hotter, and should you turn on the computer more likely than not you'll start to drain the battery (or it just will not charge).

my battery is dead already i barely get 15-20 mins of usage on full charge,
so battery drain or slow charge is not an issue. if it does not harm the laptop its perfect for me ;)

The problem is that your laptop can, and probably will, ask for more than 30W at times.
