im sure this is me not noticing a setting in windows and i tend to over think things but...
When i drag a window around it is EXTREMELY choppy vs. my desktop that is totally smooth. It seems to happen worse with AIM and the the HD light on my D620 starts flashing then turns off.. I think there is some setting in windows for it, but its been a while. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

    Thanks!
    Samuel

That is usually your graphics card drivers that is not installed correctly.

Right click on My Computer, Properties. Hardware Tab. Device Manager.
Check if there is a icon (small red cross, question mark) next to your graphics adapter. Right click on that, Update Driver. Use the CD with your graphics card drivers on.

EDIT: Also try removing graphics adapter, then right click on your computer name and Search for new devices so it can detect your graphics adapter again.

There should be a setting in your display properties (right click on the desktop). You might check to see if you have anything running in the background that might be hogging up a lot of resources, and when you have AIM up or try move windows, you are maxing out your processor/ram. You can verify this in the task manager under processess tab.

Correction. Right click on your taskbar at the bottom of your desktop, then select Task Manager. :)

No, I meant to right click on the desktop to go to the display properties. There is an option on the settings tab under "effects" which allows you to see the items in the folder when it is dragged. I thought that might be causing a problem.
