is it possible? I can open the .iso with daemon and run it but I want to do a clean install and format the whole partition. I have two partions, the main one and recovery which is only 2GB.

    has anyone tried this?

I also have an external HDD and a mp3 player I could use. the only usb pen drive I have is 1GB. I also have a 8GB SDHC card.

I really wanna avoid burning a DVD.

You have to burn the iso to a dvd. It's not that hard nor time consuming. You want to install an OS while your OS is running? Think about it.

I know that was a dumb question. But can I do it from an SD card?

I've had a great idea. I'll put the sd card into a reader and try to install from the usb. now I need to know how to put the iso file into the usb and make it bootable.

have you considered running a virtual machine and installing win7 there? Lots less disruptive to your machine.

I mounted it in daemon tools and then started the install in vista. worked for me.

I did this too, then used Disk Management to partition my drive from within Win7. The only catch is don't forget to delete your old Windows installation (Disk Clean-Up will do this for you).

I already had a new partition made. I just used custom install to put it in that partition.

All I did was copy the files in the .iso image to my flash drive and install. No mod required. No bootloader ...etc required.
