I can't figure this one out, I have installed many codecs and also the K-lite codec pack. I can generally play anything I get, but then I transfered an hour of video from my DV camcorder via firewire. The video plays well but there is no sound. I checked with gspot and it says the audio is PCM and that no codec is even necessary as this is a very high bit rate file and XP should be able to handle it. Well it isn't, I tried to look for specific PCM codecs but I can't find any except for those found in ACE's enormous codec pack, which I don't know if I should install.
Do people use the ACE pack? Is it good?
Does anyone know why my NB is not playing PCM audio?

I don't know about the PCM codecs but before you install new codecs make sure you uninstall the existing ones and restart!
You can try to convert file into another format. Maybe then sound will appear. -
polish_jr...Do NOT mix codecs. The K-Lite Codec pack was designed to be a PACK of codecs; a one package solution to almost all required codecs. If you install single codecs after installing a codec PACK like K-Lite then you are going to run into problems.
I suggest uninstalling ALL codecs and then reinstalling K-Lite itself and be done with it. If you are having problems with the K-Lite codec pack then try something else or just try mixing different releases of the K-Lite codec pack as I have done and fixed all my problems.
Also try using The Core Media Player with the K-Lite Codec pack as a combo. I do that and I can play everything and anything without any problems. -
