i am having an unsual problem. I just reinstalled windows 7 on my laptop and uploaded all drivers and programs I wanted. Now, when I type anything (on an email, web page, microsoft office, etc.), I noticed the cursor position jumps from the line I am currently at to another random line. It's very annoying. Even typing this thread it happend two times.

I have run an antivirus program twice already and no threats have been detected.

has anyone run into this problem before? If so, any ideas on how to fix it?

    Thanks,

Try this: Double click on touch pad icon in your system tray. click on "Pointer Options". Then click on "Advanced" tab in left upper corner. Click on Advanced Feature setting. Click on "Settings" in Pointer speed and tapping setting box. Uncheck "Enable Tap" box. Click Apply. You are all set.

If that doesn't work, do a google search on 'cursor jumping around' for more solutions.

I went ahead and unclicked the enable tap box, as you suggested. It seems that fixed my problem.
    Thanks for the input
