    darwin.exe error on shutdown

    i get this on shutdown , the last time i remember it was before i update bios, after it didn't appear anymore, then i updated the firmware and i got it again.

    avira antivirus, doing a scan right now.

    Edit: just finished it couldn't find it.

    Have you contacted the supplier of the firmware?
    Maybe they can tell you if it's related to their product.
    Anyway, you could also try PrevX CSI (based on this google hit) but I can't tell for sure if your problem is actually malware related.

    All information I found on the 'net says that file is malware. Instead of scanning over and over with the same software, get something different - Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy, etc - and try again.

    Examine your regsitry and look for darwin.exe. Check msconfig and look for the same thing. Look at all of the active processes and figure out where this file is hiding. Search your entire system for darwin.exe. If you can find where this file lives, you can determine better if it is harmful or not. Personally, I'd scan with several different applications (or even better, take out the drive, put it in an external enclosure, and scan it with another computer.
