    data recovery program

    say my hardrive crashed or any other problems occured and i need to retrieve data, what are some good, free, data recovery program you guys recommend? and if there are no free ones, or not any good free ones, then what are the best ones (costs doesn't matter if the free ones suck)?

    You need different software for different problems.
    Search the forum for some threads on HDD problems.

    If you simply deleted a file - and didn't overwrite it, then Recuva will do the job.

    well, first off, try a linux live disk, like ubuntu. Download it, burn to disk, reboot. Run it from the cd/dvd w/out installing it. Then, when you've got it running, go to "computer" and find your hard drive/partition.

    Then see if you can locate your files/data. If so, copy to a flash drive or burn to cd/dvd. I know it sounds nuts, but I've had lots of luck doing this. Often when Windows is corrupt, you can recover most of your data w/ a linux live disk.
