    Hi.

I use Smart Defrag, and their is a large immovable section, now i have disabled pagefile and also the hibernation file, but the immovable section remains.

Are there any other immovable files.

Also is their any way to tell which file this is.

I am sure i used a free defrag tool in vista that if you pointed to the area it told you what files it was?

    Thanks

    John.

The defrag log after each run should tell you what part it is not being "touched"; tested with 1.03 version

    cheers ...

There are a number of other files - all, I believe, hidden system files - that are kept open by the OS and thus are flagged as being inaccessible, such as ntuser.dat and the other registry hive files.
