ok back then when my sis bought her dell 700m, it came with a windows xp home sp2 reinstallation. recently, my sis bought a 1330 with vista, but it did not come with any vista reinstall cd. i read online that manufacturers will not be distributing OS cds with their systems anymore but that the customers can still burn of copy of their OS directly to disc. does anyone know how to do this on vista? i want to get a copy of vista reinstallation cd. thanks in advance.

It should have come with an OS disc, .Dell is not one of the OEMs who are no longer providing discs.
Just hop in a support session and they should send you some discs right away. -
You cannot burn the OS Disks from your computer as far as I know.
Call Dell, and ask for the Recovery Disks.

I burnt a OS DVD from my Sony Vaio FZ. Now manufacturers stopped putting OS media in the hard drive. You might be able to burn a recovery DVD from your computer. Contact Dell.
